I have a 2006 Audi A4 2.0T With 55,000 miles just bought a new set of tires for it. Took it to an alignment shop they adjusted the rear toe but when they went to adjust the front toe either the jam nut or the adjuster was seized up and wouldn't move. They said they sprayed everything down with PB blaster and to come back in a couple days to see if they could get them to move. I returned 3 days later and it still wouldn't move.
They told me they can't heat the tie rod or jam nut because the treads are made of plastic and would melt and the only way to set the front toe would be to replace the tie rods. Is this true? Can the dealership align it without replacing the tie rods? I really hate going to the dealers had a bad experience at both of them and their price is almost double.
