Hi, thanks for your assistance!
I have a 1999 Audi A6 2,4 tiptronic. I recently gave the car a real good clean which included dropping the gearchange into tiptronic mode to clean the base of the gear stick. Now the car does not recognise it is in tiptronic mode when selected. The dash display continues to illuminate drive and works normally. My Audi specialist says the electrics appear ok but can't say what is wrong. Any ideas?
Regards,
Tyrone

Re: Audi Tiptronic Problems
Tue, October 23, 2007 - 7:08 PMHi Tyrone,
Recently I purchased from a second hand dealer an Audi A6 2004 model. All looks O.K. until I went into Manual. After sometime, it drops to Auto, the car continues driving but the display highlights all the auto modes. The gear shift remains in the Manual position but like yours it does not recognise the Manual mode. I have to stop, switch off and restart then it goes back to normal. I still have not got this fixed but looks like an electronic control problem. The agent here in Singapore is recommending a change of the complete gear control.
Any ideas?
