The piston broke on my Audi A3 2.0T the other day and they need to replace the cylinder which is going to cost my extended warranty company (thank god them and not me) more than $4,000. I'm wondering why this has happened to a car with 65,000 miles on it. For the last 30,000 miles my oil light would come on about 5,000 miles after my scheduled oil change which was due every 10,000. The dealership said that these cars burn a lot of oil and they checked for leakage but found nothing. I'm interested to know if these two problems could be connected. Your thoughts?
